40 Watt Club If you're ever in Athens, stop by. It's a cool place to see live music. While you're waiting for the show to start, eat at The Grit.
The Album Leaf Solo work from Jimmy LaValle of Tristeza. Richly textured melodies that bring calmness to a room.
American Analog Set Texas born and bred. Love them.
Blood Brothers We saw the Blood Brothers when we went to see Milemarker play, and I'm glad we did. This band has been heralded as among the most creative in hardcore today. That is not something I would say, because it sounds like a load of crap. I just think they rock.
Chicks on Speed I can't really explain this band too well, but I will throw out some adjectives that might apply to them: eurotrash, electronica, no wave. If these words mean something to you, you probably have already heard COS. If not, check them out. They grew on me in a weird way.
Codeine Some nights we all need a little.
The Cure Finally, finally I saw them. Thanks, Rich.
Death Cab for Cutie They're getting popular for a reason.
Dischord One of the most important record labels of all time.
Engine Down We've been fans of Engine Down since the first time we saw them play in a Blacksburg punk house 5 or 6 years ago. The line-up has changed and their sound has matured, but they still rock just as much as they did then.
The Faint One of the few bands whose music forces me dance. As in I have no choice. My body just starts jerking around and I'm unable to stop.

Lovitt Records Home of Engine Down, Rah Bras, Bats & Mice, and more.
Milemarker Having been reinventing themselves for years now, their latest record is amazing and it seems like they've settled on a sound. But, who knows, they're always full of surprises...

Rainer Maria This site is impressive and updated regularly.
Rubber Gloves Music club in an old cement factory in Denton, TX.
Southern Records Lots of good band info here, including tour dates, band bios, and discographies.
Sunny Day Real Estate The band officially broke up for good, but this site offers a lot of information. Sometimes it's hard to let go of a good band.
Tortoise They are amazing to listen to in your living room, and even more so live.
Mike Watt Formerly of the mighty Minutemen and the flannel-clad Firehose, Mike Watt still travels the country in a van bringing his fantastic bass-playing to the people.
The Wau Wau Sisters We hadn't heard of them until we saw them open for Le Tigre, and they almost stole the show! Their stage presence ranged from country to metal, and they ended their set with an incredible trapeze performance!
